When 3D printing technology is integrated into a company’s production process, there’s more to it than just hitting the print button and letting the machine do the rest. Though one of the biggest advantages to additive manufacturing is increased production speed, there are a number of automated systems meant to fully actualize the potential of industrial 3D printing technology. The Mountain View, California-based company Authentisespecializes in developing security measures and big data applications to help a wide range of companies integrate 3D printing technology into their daily operations.
Last year, Authentise unveiled their 3DIAX platform, which is a modular process automation system that enhances 3D printing operations for businesses by offering progressive tools and improved security and storage. Since then, Authentise has slowly built upon their comprehensive platform. Back in September, they released 3Diax Machine Analytics to help customers monitor their 3D printing operations and identify key performance indicators from the technology and production process. Now, Authentise has added the 3Diax Manufacturing Execution System (MES), a software that provides numerous tools to organize modern and scalable 3D printing operations.
The MES is reliant on the machine analytics module that was recently integrated into the 3Diax platform. This module allows the order status to be automatically updated and provide all parts of operations, utilizing real-time information to produce quality parts efficiently and reliably. The 3Diax MES is an intelligent system meant to automate the entire 3D printing process, from sales to printer operations.
“After our Machine Analytics tool, 3Diax MES is further proof that the 3Diax platform enables us to innovate more rapidly than any other software provider in manufacturing today,” says Andre Wegner, CEO of Authentise. “This helps us fulfill our clients vision of integrated, automated, industrialized additive manufacturing operations quickly, and easily adapt it to existing operational workflows.”
Authentise’s new system is also capable of providing metrics and estimating design costs, using file analytics and price quoting data compiled in the 3Diax modules. The intelligent automation platform has a vast array of innovative features, including third party management and post processing operations. The 3Diax MES can also be amplified with additional 3Diax modules to enable features such as automatic serialization or in-depth metrics from various additive manufacturing operations.

The idea for the 3Diax MES originated from a recent system deployment for a major corporation thathad a number of print locations spread across the world. With the on-premise deployment option provided by Authentise, this company was able track their global production statuses from anywhere. On top of that, the 3Diax APIs allowed them to integrate operational information into existing corporate IT systems, such as customer relationship management tools.

Ultimately, the 3Diax MES aims to automate and enhance the industrial 3D printing process for companies across all sectors. In an increasingly globalized market, there’s no denying the need for manufacturers to monitor their widespread production process. The extended 3Diax platform does all that and more, utilizing their thorough machine analytics to oversee and optimize their customers’ additive operations.
