How the list works

The selection we made follows a few criteria. All 3D printers listed here are available on Amazon and have an Amazon buyers rating of 3.5 stars or higher. They must have at least 20 buyer reviews and they must cost less than $2000 USD. Each 3D printer will include a small introduction describing the key features.

This 3D printer is made by the developer of the original Prusa model, Josef Prusa. All parts of this DIY 3D printer kit are open source and part of the RepRap project. This has to be one of the best kits you can buy for this price. It comes with 0.5 kg of PLA and a spool holder. A great choice.

This 3D printer is great if you understand the technology and know how to alter/improve it. If you are a beginner and not interested in solving hardware problems, this might not be the best choice for you.

So if you want to install a dual extruder on this 3D printer, you won’t need to upgrade the whole control board.
